I am currently using Windows Vista Beta 2 Evaluation Copy Build 5384 Customer Preview Program
I am wondering if I can upgrade to the current build of 5456?
I click on "Windows Update" daily thinking it will automatically upgrade but it doesn't.
Please advise.

Lastest Build 5456
5456 is not part of the CPP. The next edition available to the CPP will be RC1, in mid to late Q3 (actual drop date is a rumour and subject to change).

If you are not a technical betatester, you have no access to later builds @ this moment.

Newer builds newer come via Windows Update btw.

Can I sign up to be a beta tester or is it too late? Also what is Q3?

I am sure you can apply, but I am not sure of the acceptance procedure, or if there is any cost involved, or what the requirements may be. Search this newsgroup and the internet for "TechNet" and "MSDN" for lots of information.

You wouldn't just know this, but there is no mechanism for applying. Go to Microsoft Connect. All available programs are listed under "Available Connections."

Vista/Longhorn Beta was removed almost a year ago when enrollment closed.

"Q3" means "Third quarter." In this case, July through September of 2007. This is an optimistic estimate for RC1 (Release Candidate 1).
